About Azat Tours
Azat is our founder's name and the Kyrgyz word for free. He has guided these valleys since 2019 with a small local team, and built Azat Tours so you feel free here, and at home. Here's what that means for your trip:
Every trip is led by Kyrgyz guides who know the passes, the families and the safest river crossings, not a script.
Tell us your dates, pace and budget. We design an itinerary that fits you, no rigid package tourism.
Vetted vehicles, first-aid-trained guides, satellite comms in remote areas and 24/7 support back in Bishkek.
We partner with herder families and village hosts, so your money stays in the mountains it came from.
Visa-free for most Western and East-Asian passports. We help with logistics, airport pickup, SIM cards and everything in between.
Transparent quotes, no hidden extras, and a best-price promise. Enquire free, pay only when you're ready.
Where you'll go
The lakes, valleys and Silk-Road sites our trips are built around, every tour can be tailored to include them.
Meet the founder
Born in these mountains, I have guided these valleys since 2019. Azat means “free” in Kyrgyz, and free is exactly how I want you to feel here, and at home. I built Azat Tours with a small local team so your trip stays honest, personal and rooted in the places we love.
Feel free. Feel at home.

Good to know
Everything first-time visitors ask before booking. Still unsure? Message us, we reply fast.
Travellers from the EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea enter visa-free for up to 30 days within any 60-day period. Longer stays use the simple online Sapar e-visa. The rule changed at the end of 2025 and many older guides still say 60 days, so check your own nationality on evisa.e-gov.kg. Tell us your passport when you enquire and we'll confirm your exact allowance.
Yes. Kyrgyzstan is one of Central Asia's most welcoming and stable destinations, with very low crime against travellers. Our guides are first-aid trained, vehicles are vetted, and we carry satellite communication in remote areas.
June to September is ideal for trekking, horse treks and yurt stays, when high passes are open and the jailoo (summer pastures) are green. May and October are beautiful and quieter for lower-altitude and cultural trips.
We grade every tour from easy to hard. There are gentle day tours and lakeside trips with almost no walking, right up to high-altitude expeditions. Tell us your level and we'll match the route, or build one for you.
Enquiring is completely free with no prepayment. Once your itinerary is confirmed, we take a small deposit to reserve guides and yurts, with the balance due before or on arrival. Bank transfer and card both accepted.
