Winter Ala-Archa Snow Walk - Day Trip
A gentle winter day in Ala-Archa National Park, 40 km from Bishkek. An eco bus takes us deep into the snowy gorge, then you walk at your own pace past frozen river bends and pines under snow. Feed the birds and squirrels, try the short hike to the Broken Heart viewpoint and warm up with a hot drink at the A-Frame. No hard hiking and no long drive.

Day-by-day itinerary
Tap any day to expand. Every itinerary can be tailored to your dates, pace and fitness.
Your guide and driver pick you up at your hotel in the morning. Ala-Archa National Park is 40 km away, about an hour by car. On the way in, your guide tells you about the park.
Cars stop at the park entrance. From there the official eco bus, the only transport allowed inside, takes us deeper into the gorge. Out of the bus, you walk the winter road as far as you like. Stop for photos of the icy river, feed the birds and squirrels and keep an eye out for winter wildlife.
Want a little more? Take the short hike to the Broken Heart viewpoint. Your guide stays with you, shows the best spots and helps with photos.
We finish at the A-Frame restaurant with hot tea or coffee and the mountains framed in its big windows. Then the eco bus takes us back to the car and we drive to Bishkek. The whole trip takes 5 to 6 hours.
