## Itinerary

### Day 1: Bishkek to Burana Tower and back, with a city tour

Your guide meets you at your hotel and asks whether you lean toward history, culture or a balance of both. Then we drive about 80 km into the Chui Valley. On the way you hear why the Silk Road mattered so much here.

At Burana you walk among the remains of Balasagun, once a busy trading town. Balbals, the old carved stone figures, stand near ancient petroglyphs. A small museum on site keeps coins, ceramics and other finds from the area. Climb the tower itself for a wide view across the valley.

Lunch is at a local restaurant on the road back to Bishkek. The city tour starts at Osh Bazaar, where you can taste local products, buy souvenirs and practise bargaining. On Ala-Too Square you see the 33-metre Manas Monument and the 100-metre flagpole, and with good timing the changing of the Guard of Honor.

Your guide covers the 2005, 2010 and 2020 revolutions at the White House, then leads you past the Lenin Monument, through Panfilov Park and to Victory Square. The Philharmonic Hall, Opera and Ballet Theatre, Circus and Wedding Hall show several eras of Soviet building. The last stop is the Central Mosque, before the drive back to your hotel.
