## Itinerary

### Day 1: Bishkek to Burana Tower and Konorchek Canyon

Your guide picks you up at your hotel in Bishkek. Tell us whether you lean towards history or nature, and we shape the day around it. Burana Tower is about 80 km away, and the Silk Road stories start in the car.

Burana stands on the site of Balasagun, once a busy trading town. You walk among balbals and petroglyphs, then look at coins, ceramics and other finds from the 9th to 11th centuries in the small museum. Climb the tower if you like. The Tien Shan fills the horizon from the top.

Next comes Konorchek Canyon, and the landscape changes completely. First we stop at a small local place for kattama and tea from a samovar. Then we walk up the valley for 2 to 3 hours there and back. The trail is easy to moderate, with a few spots that need care, and red cliffs rise on both sides.

The path ends at the Eolian Castles, a wide viewpoint where we rest and take photos. Your guide stays with you the whole way and sets the pace. On the drive back to Bishkek we stop for lunch at a local cafe, then drop you at your hotel.
